About Naked Raygun
1985 was a pivotal year for Naked Raygun — the year the classic lineup locked into place. After a few personnel changes around the time of Throb Throb, the band settled on the core four: Jeff Pezzati, John Haggerty, Eric Spicer, and Pierre Kezdy. Over the next three releases — All Rise, Jettison, and Understand? — this lineup stayed intact, and the band found itself playing bigger venues, growing its fan base, and touring more extensively than ever. Each member brought something essential. Jeff Pezzati served as the vocal maestro. Eric Spicer held down the drum kit, laying beats built for sing-alongs and circle pits alike. Pierre Kezdy's bass lines and stoic stage presence are the stuff of legend. And John Haggerty's explosive, wall-of-sound guitar work paved the way for countless bands to follow. Together, this lineup became known for creating the "Chicago Sound”, cementing the Midwest as an essential part of the national punk scene.
